PRESENTATION / HISTORY

A young company founded in March 2005, PLA’C’ART provides quality development and presenting services to local artists. We propose booking services for professional shows in Quebec, Canada and around the world.

‘’To be at the right place at the right time’’ is the heart and mission of this cultural management company. We seize all opportunities to forge links, meet presenters and partners and of course, artists.

During the last few seasons, more than thirty artistic companies have been accompanied by PLA’C’ART to develop and tour their projects. Hundreds of performances have been presented for the pleasure of publics of all ages.

PLA’C’ART is getting bigger by the minute! If the name seems small, the projects that we undertake are not! Our ambition is great. Since its inception, PLA’C’ART has enjoyed a significant reputation. PLA’C’ART takes care of its people and ensures all its artists tailor-made, humanistic, quality services.

PLA’C’ART received the Prix de développement international de la Ville de Québec (International Development Prize from the City of Quebec) allocated during the 2008 Bourse RIDEAU and has several times been a finalist for the Touring prize. The role and place of PLA’C’ART are recognized not only in the cultural milieu, but also in the business sector. To this effect, Chantal Cimon received a mention as Self-employed worker of the year for the Quebec and Chaudières-Appalaches regions by the META Network (Micro business and self-employment network) during their 2009 recognition evening. Undeniably, PLA’C’ART has a good reputation.

GENERAL MANAGER

Chantal Cimon holds a Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management from UQAM. Following her studies, she was Assistant to the Director of communications at Voyages Campus in Montreal. After a few years in the world of promotion and publicity, her passion for the performing arts led her towards a cultural organization. She thus worked for 2 years for a contemporary dance company as Development and touring Coordinator. At the end of this mandate, she returns to her hometown - Quebec City - strong with experience and ready to contribute to the cultural vitality of the Capital.

Rapidly she obtains contracts with theatre, circus and dance companies. A year after her return, Chantal Cimon therefore decides to create her own agency. For her, this is the occasion to help local artists develop and promote their art, to meet publics here and elsewhere.

Her greatest strength resides in public relations. She has a natural ease and comfort for contacts.

Extremely organized, she likes to work on several projects at a time and is not afraid of challenges.
